Description
One of the earliest main-crop figs in New Zealand, with harvest beginning in late February in Auckland and extending to mid-March in the Waikanae area. Produces medium to large pyriform fruit with distinctive purple stripe markings on green skin and amber flesh. A commercially successful variety. Prone to splitting but will not continue ripening after harvest. Flavour is milder than Adriatic-type figs. Performs in marginal cooler growing areas where later cultivars struggle.
