Description
Named for its location at the historic cottage in Harcourt Park on Akatarawa Road, Upper Hutt. A medium-sized pyriform fig that transitions from green to deep purple as it ripens. Dense red flesh, thick skin, tight ostiole, and excellent drying qualities. The breba crop ripens in February in Upper Hutt. Prone to splitting at full ripeness. An identical tree with links to Bishop Hadfield has been identified at PekaPeka. Known by several informal names across the Wellington region.
