Buddha's Hand

Buddha's Hand is the fingered citron (Citrus medica var. sarcodactylis), an ornamental small tree whose yellow fruit splits into finger-like segments with all rind and no flesh, juice or seeds. Listed by Waimea Nurseries (CITRON Buddha's Hand) and sold by Flying Dragon Nursery and Citrus Direct NZ. Waimea notes strong lemony aroma used as a room fragrance, sliced in drinks or for lemon liqueur; Flying Dragon adds ripening June-August. Currently the catalog holds a typo'd 'Buddas Hand' with no description under generic Citrus sp.; this proposal creates the correct Citron species home.
