‘Gala’ is a apple cultivar of Malus domestica selected for its named fruit qualities and orchard performance. There really is only one word for NZ's 'Gala' apple - superb. Crisp, crunchy, white juicy flesh that is aromatic and just tastes so good when picked straight off the tree. Available in New Zealand. Golden Delicious and Kidd's Orange Red. Originated in New Zealand. Disease resistance: Poor. On M27 rootstock to keep very compact - support with a stake.
