Description
‘Golden Delicious’ is a apple cultivar of Malus domestica selected for its named fruit qualities and orchard performance. This popular apple is very well named because it is indeed golden and very scrum-delicious. The flesh is crisp and juicy with a sweet honey flavour. Available in New Zealand. External cultivar references describe ‘Golden Delicious’ as follows: Undoubtedly one of the most important apple varieties of the 20th century, both as a commercial variety in its own right, and as breeding stock for many other varieties. Very good flavor when home-grown.
