Description
‘Topaz’ is a apple cultivar of Malus domestica selected for its named fruit qualities and orchard performance. A pale yellow apple with a red and orange blush, its yellow base coloring peeking out just slightly at its stem. Its juicy, crisp flesh is creamy white in color and when first picked its flavor is can be a bit tart but sweetens when stored. Available in New Zealand. Vanda x Rubin. Originated in Czech Republic; introduced 1990s; developed by Dr. Jaroslav Tupy, Institute of Experimental Botany. Award: RHS AGM (current). Disease resistance: Good. Topaz is a late-season all-purpose apple variety producing medium-sized, juicy, sweet fruit with good disease resistance — particularly resistant to apple scab. Creamy-white flesh.
