Description

Named by Eric Cairns after the Vlassoff family of Feilding, around 1950. A San Pedro-type bearing a moderate to heavy breba crop with no reliable main crop. Large spherical fruit with dark brown-red skin, red flesh, open ostiole, and a short fat neck. Honey-sweet when fully ripe. Suited to cooler areas, including the southern North Island, where the breba ripens dependably. Thought to be the same as Caves Wanganui (Cambridge) and Anne Stewart (Athenree).
