Rugosa. This strongly scented rose has beautiful semi-double, velvety wine-red flowers with a hint of purple. It is constantly in bloom over a long period. One of the best loved Rugosas with good reason. Nice dark green foliage which colours well in the autumn. Very hardy and tolerant. 1901. The strongly scented flowers are followed by giant tomato-shaped hips. Hips are suitable for refreshing Rose Hip Tea. Flower colour: Red / Purple. Habit: Shrub. Leaves: Deciduous, Green.
