Cleopatra

Edranol

Edranol is a cultivar of avocado selected for its distinctive fruit or growth characteristics. Edranol produces very fine flavoured, good looking avocados by the bucket full. The skin stays green when ripe, but darkens a little as it ripens.

Esther

Esther Semi Dwarf is a cultivar of avocado selected for its distinctive fruit or growth characteristics. Esther produces avocados that are larger than Hass, round-oval shape, that are creamy, buttery and have a good flavour. When fully grown, Esther reaches about 4 meters high, and 3 meters wide, but can be kept smaller by light pruning after fruit harvest Fruit ripens March to August, which is the season when Hass has finished and avocados become expensive in the supermarket.

Ettinger

The Ettinger avocado tree is very vigorous, and as a heavy bearer of fruit it is often the most profitable B variety of many orchards. Ettinger avocados are similar to Fuerte avocados, pear-shaped with smooth, thin, bright green skin, and pale green flesh. The tree has an upright growing habit with little spreading, and has the same tendency as the Fuerte variety to sometimes produce seedless fruits, called "cukes".

Frazer

Frazer is a cultivar of avocado selected for its distinctive fruit or growth characteristics. It produces lemon shaped avocados, that turn black when ripe. Inside, the flesh is tasty, with similarities to Hass, with a high oil content, and little to no fibres.

Fuerte

aka Avocado (Group B) Pear shaped fruit, small to medium in size with slightly rough, thin green skin. The flesh is of a buttery texture with excellent flavour. The tree has a vigorous spreading habit that shows alternate bearing characteristics. Plant in warm sunny position with excellent drainage. Group B Evergreen. Fujikawa

Fujikawa is a cultivar of avocado selected for its distinctive fruit or growth characteristics. The plant is consistent bearer of heavy crops annually, with the added bonus of the fruit hanging on to the tree for months when ready to pick. The fruit are small - medium sized, and remain green when ripe.

Hashimoto

Hass - 3year old

Hass - Pb10-3year old is a persea americana cultivar. Avocado Hass is the most commonly grown variety in the world having high oil content and a rich nutty flavour. Flesh has a smooth texture and covered by a thick skin.

Hayes

Hayes is similar to Hass, but is larger, the skin is glossier, pebbled, rough, thick and becomes brown/purple when ripe. The flesh is a nice rich yellow with a buttery flavour. The plant is hardy, and can grow large if left unpruned, but responds well to an annual prune to keep it a manageable size.

Hopkins

Hopkins is a cultivar of avocado selected for its distinctive fruit or growth characteristics. It produces large to extra large avocados that are round to oval in shape with a slight neck, which stay green when ripe. It has a medium pale yellow flesh, which is creamy with a well balanced fine flavour.

McEldowney

McEldowney is a New Zealand developed variety that produces superb quality fruit in Autumn. The fruit best described as a cross between a Reed and Hass, taking on a shape which is similar to a round Reed, and an autumn set Carmen Hass (oval-round shape). The skin changes from green to black when ripe.

Mexicola

Mexicola is a cultivar of avocado selected for its distinctive fruit or growth characteristics. A very unique and interesting avocado variety, which produces shiny black skinned fruit, with a bright yellow and green flesh. The skin is very thin and edible, and they can be eaten like an apple.

Mexicola Grande

Mexicola Grande is a cultivar of avocado selected for its distinctive fruit or growth characteristics. This is a unique and intriguing avocado variety that produces black-skinned fruit with yellow-green, buttery flesh. The fruit has a medium-sized seed and is about the size of a typical Hass avocado, and much larger than the Mexicola variety.

Noel

Noel is a cultivar of avocado selected for its distinctive fruit or growth characteristics. The fruiting season is long and ripens alongside Hass, generally from mid spring through summer, into March. The fruit is almost indistinguishable from Hass, having a creamy, nutty, relatively fibre free flesh.

Pinkerton
