Amanogawa

Amanogawa is a cultivar of flowering cherry. Upright Flowering Cherry. A popular street planting tree because of its narrow columnar habit. Clusters of fragrant, semi-double, shell-pink blossoms smother the tree in mid spring. Fresh bronze-green spring foliage turning bright green for summer. Deciduous. The Japanese name Amanogawa means 'Milky Way' describing the tree in full bloom. The Royal Horticultural Society have given this tree an Award of Garden Merit. Matures to around 6 m tall by 2.5 m wide.

Autumnalis Rosea

Autumnalis Rosea is a cultivar of flowering cherry. An unusual flowering cherry in that it will start flowering in winter if the temperatures are mild. The main display of dainty semi-double blush pink flowers is as expected in spring and is not at all diminished by the early start. Plant in a sunny well drained spot. Deciduous. Matures to around 5 m tall by 5 m wide.

Avium Pendula

Avium Pendula is a cultivar of flowering cherry. This weeping cherry would look fabulous as a feature tree with its semi pendulous habit abd abundance of white/pink cup shaped flowers borne in clusters. An impressive sight in full bloom. Matures to around 3 m tall by 3 m wide.

Awanui

Awanui is a cultivar of flowering cherry. Raised in NZ, 'Awanui' is a little different from other flowering cherries in that the horizontal branches drape softly almost to ground level. The prolific spring blooms are softest baby pink and single. A tree in full blossom is extremely pretty. Definitely a must have. Deciduous. Matures to around 5 m tall by 8 m wide.

Falling Snow

Falling Snow is a cultivar of flowering cherry. Weeping Flowering Cherry. A beautiful and graceful small tree with pendulous arching branches. In spring the branches are smothered in single white blossom that is blushed with just a hint of pink. Very pretty. Fresh green summer foliage that colours well in autumn. Deciduous. Matures to around 2 m tall by 2 m wide.

Hilleri Spire

Hilleri Spire is a cultivar of flowering cherry. A charming little tree with a cloud of single pale pink flowers in spring. The new foliage emerges bronze and slowly turns green in summer. Orange red tones prior to leaf fall. Deciduous. Matures to around 5 m tall by 2 m wide.

Ichiyo is a cultivar of flowering cherry. A beautiful, upright flowering cherry with frilled, double, shell pink flowers hanging in long-stalked clusters in mid-spring. Young foliage is an attractive, bronze-green, darkening to a deep green over summer. Deciduous. Matures to around 5 m tall by 5 m wide.

Jims Delight

Jims Delight is a cultivar of flowering cherry. When you see this compact little tree in full flower in early spring you will know just why Jim was delighted. Single, star shaped blossoms that are coloured a warm pink. Nice dark green foliage with good autumn tones prior to leaf fall. Likes the sun and well drained soil. Matures to around 3 m tall by 2 m wide.

Kanzan

Kanzan is a cultivar of flowering cherry. 'Kanzan' is deservedly one of the most popular flowering cherries. Gorgeous, fully double, pink blossoms hang in pendent clusters for several weeks in spring followed by coppery bronze new foliage. Fresh green summer leaves that have excellent autumn colour. Kiku Shidare Sakura

Kiku Shidare Sakura is a cultivar of flowering cherry. Weeping Cherry. Pretty, pendulous, branches of frilly, rich pink, double blossom announce spring has arrived during September/October. Glossy bronze-green new foliage turns green for summer and scarlet for autumn. A lovely specimen that will do best in a sunny well drained spot. Deciduous. Matures to around 2.5 m tall by 2 m wide.

Mountain Haze

Mountain Haze is a cultivar of flowering cherry. An outstanding flowering Cherry, masses of white pink blossom smother this dome shaped, very appealing tree. Massed clusters of densely petalled, double flowers in shades of white to soft pink is the main feature of this unusual cherry. The hanging clusters of bloom are dotted throughout the tree in charming fashion. Early flowering with good autumn colour. Matures to around 4 m tall by 3 m wide.

Mountain Ice

Mountain Ice is a cultivar of flowering cherry. Selected seedling from Taranaki that has masses of striking, white, pendulous blossoms that drape the branches in mid spring. When young has an upward habit and becomes more horizontal with age. Nice autumn colour. Grow in a sunny position in well drained soil. Deciduous. Matures to around 6 m tall by 5 m wide.

Okame

Okame is a cultivar of flowering cherry. Pendent clusters of dainty bright carmine pink bell flowers appear in late winter. These flowers are attractively fringed and a magnet for nectar loving birds. Bronze new foliage that eventually turns green. A good small tree suitable for town gardens. Deciduous. Matures to around 2.5 m tall by 2 m wide.

Peggy Wilson

Peggy Wilson is a cultivar of flowering cherry. This vase shaped tree with spreading branches is a smaller variety and is well suited to the smaller garden. Flowers very well in warmer climates. Becomes smothered with large palest blush pink blossom around mid-September. Orange and yellow autumn leaves. Deciduous Matures to around 2.5 m tall by 4 m wide.

Pendula Rosea

Pendula Rosea is a cultivar of flowering cherry. AKA the Weeping Rosebud Cherry this delightful little tree has an arching, graceful pendulous habit. In spring the branches are completely covered with sprays of dainty single pink blossoms. Use as a focal point in the border or perhaps even try in a large container. Deciduous. Matures to around 2.5 m tall by 2.5 m wide.

Pink Cloud

Pink Cloud is a cultivar of flowering cherry. A very pretty flowering Cherry which is one of the first to blossom in spring. The flowers are a delicate shade of pink and smother the bare drooping branches in September. Good autumn colour. Best to avoid strong winds so the blossom is kept on the tree for as long as possible. Sterile. 'Pink Cloud' was raised in NZ by Felix Jury. Grow in a sunny, sheltered, well drained position. Matures to around 4 m tall by 3 m wide.
