‘Sunset’ is a apple cultivar of Malus domestica selected for its named fruit qualities and orchard performance. Sunset is a Malus domestica cultivar. It produces medium sized fruit with a good aromatic flavour, crisp and juicy. It has golden yellow skin overlaid with a pale orange-red blush and broken red stripes with occasional russet. External cultivar references describe ‘Sunset’ as follows: Popular garden alternative to Cox, easier to grow, and has a similar flavour albeit lacking some of the depth.
